New Zealand's Maori Arrivle
Kia ora
The first Maori explorer to reach Aotearoa ( the land of the long white cloud ) was Kupe.
He travelled across the South Pacific on his waka (boat) using the stars and the ocean as his guide.
He came from his Polynesian homeland referred as to Hawaiiki.
It isn't the long 15 minute ride from Auckland city to Waiheke island.
It would have taken Kupe many mouths to sail the south pacific.
Kia ora ano and happy Christmas

My First Blog -2017
My name is Nia-jaye. This is my first blog post. I am a year 4 student at Glen innes school and this is the 3rd school that i've been too.
My parents say that i'm a smart little girl , especially at math.
I like doing math and reading but not really at writing. My favourite part of maths is doing my times tables, and I like reading because the activities we do at school are fun.
I call myself a tomboy because i don't like that many girl things.
I live with my whanau in Auckland.
I am looking forward to blogging and hearing from people around the world.
