Beijing is one of the biggest cities in China and has air pollution😫😣😟 in closes roads, stops events and planes!! Almost 1.1 million chinese people did from the polluted air!
List of my feelings:
1. Weird
2.Sick
3,Protective
I would not want to be one of the people that die from air pollution. If I only came for a meeting and it gets cancelled till next month and I go in a weeks time I think I will be fine probably stay at the place I'm staying at the whole time.
Hello Nia-Jaye,
ReplyDeleteI really like your description of China, and your personal feelings about it, because it tells me how you view things in your perspective. Ka Pai!
I think it is a bit weird that your feelings on China are sick and weird because it makes me confused about what is sickening and what is strange. I would most definitely love to go there to see all of their ancient foods and buildings, but also a little spark of doubt will stay in me, as air pollution is taking over. I think for this activity you are supposed to write a poem, so maybe you can improve that.
What is your favourite country?

Kia Ora Nia-Jaye,
ReplyDeleteYour feelings about visting Beijing is excellent. I would have to agree with you as people who live there look super sick and I also wouldn't want to be those people who end up being killed. I am glad you have chosen this answer as it was very clever of you and thanks for telling everyone why you chose it.
Beijing does sound harsh and scary which is why I wouldn't want to visit China ever.
Thanks for the post Nia-Jaye.
If you had to go Beijing, where would you go first?
Bye,
Hinerangi
Hi Nia-Jaye,
ReplyDeleteIt's Leslie here, reading your blog from my home in Canada as a member of the Summer Learning team. Isn't it amazing that I can be living on the opposite side of the world and yet participate in the same program as you?
I can understand your concern about visiting a city that is covered in smog some of the time. I can't imagine living and working in a place where I would have to wear a mask over my face in order to go outside.
I feel very lucky to live in a part of Canada wherein the air is clear and clean. I used to live in a very big city, Toronto, and there were many days in the summertime when the air would be thick with smog. There were so many cars and trucks on the roads, so many industries pumping out smoke into the air that the sky would be grey. Fortunately our government has made new laws that require companies to reduce the amount of pollution they produce and to put scrubbers on their chimney stacks to filter the smoke coming out of them. We're also pressuring car manufacturers to create cars that don't run on fossil fuels and that are more energy efficient.
There are good changes happening all around the world. Hopefully there will be changes made for the good of all in Beijing too!
Are you getting lots of time outside, in the fresh air, over your summer time? I hope so. And I hope you're enjoying these Summer Learning Journey activities!!
I'll continue to read your blog.
Cheers,
Leslie
