Math on a squid ?!!!!! S,L,J

If a Colsosso squid weighs approximately 500 kg and a team at Te Papa decided to move the giant squid from one area of the museum to another.Let’s imagine that the average adult can lift 25 kg and the average child can lift 15 kg. How many adults and children will it take to move the giant squid into its new room at Te Papa?

  1. Hi Nia-Jaye!

This is some great Maths you have done here, what a mathematician!
I am wondering if you were able to come up with a solution that was equal to exactly 500 using children and adults?
Are you also able to explain your working Nia-Jaye?

I've seen the colossal squid in Te Papa and it is pretty huge - I would not be surprised if it took this many people to move it! Have you seen it before? ...it's pretty cool!
Do you think you would have liked to be on the team moving the squid?... might have been a messy job!

I was just told about a strong man alled Eddie Hall - He won the World's Strongest Man 2017 and he can lift 500kg's all by himself... maybe Te Papa should have hired him to move the squid!!

    Nga mihi,
    Ellee :)
