Life of a Kokako.
Kokako is a new zealand bird that is in very serious trouble and I had some trouble looking for a bird out of all of these options.
All the birds I got to choose from were beautiful and made me feel bad I wish I could help some of the birds.😞
Kokako's live in forests in the North and south.
Kokakos mainly eat fruit and leaves and sometimes flowers, buds and moss.
In 2016 Kokako was named Bird of the year. 👏👏🏆👏👏
Hi Nia-Jaye!
ReplyDeleteWoah what a lovely bird! I had not heard of the Kokako before...I don't think I have ever seen one either! I learnt a lot from this post though which was awesome. :)
It is really sad that they are not doing so well -
Are some of the remaining birds in a special sanctury to sustain the numbers? Maybe these are one of the birds that DOC is protecting?
They are really beautiful looking birds - How big do they get?
That's pretty cool that they have already gotten 'Bird of the Year' too - they must be pretty epic! :)
Ka pai Nia, this was a great post :)
Nga mihi,
Ellee :)
